The Lusk girls basketball team put together a strong season for the 2nd straight year with a 4th place finish in 2A. Senior Taylor Gaukel was named all-state as the squad went 18-11 this past season. The group was senior laden with 7 total so there will be a new complexion for next year. In the opening round of the state tournament, Lusk beat Greybull 42-38 despite being outscored 18-9 in the 4th quarter. Gaukel was the Tigers leading scorer with 11 while Julianne Graham had 10 on 5-6 from the field. In the 2A semi-finals, Lusk had a tough day from the field and lost 36-35 to Southeast. The Tigers went 27% from the field with Ashley Christianson throwing in a dozen points and Gaukel chipping in 11. The Tiger season concluded with a 51-37 defeat to Pine Bluffs in the 3rd/4th place game. Gaukel wrapped up her prep career with 16 with Courtney Rowley finishing with 10.
