The six-time defending 3A girls’ basketball state champion Douglas Bearcats have a new leader ahead of the 2024-25 season. Kassidy Scott Johnson was hired as the new head coach.

The Douglas Bearcats continued their dominance in 3A girls’ basketball with their fourth straight state championship on Saturday night in Casper.

The date of Jan. 7, 2022, will be one the Douglas High School girls’ basketball program will remember forever. That’s the day they set a new state record.

All they’ve done together is win 76 high school basketball games and a pair of state championships. Douglas seniors Allyson Fertig and Joslin Igo have been simply dominant.

The Cats are currently the #1 ranked team in 3A
