Three schools have both the #1 boys and #1 girls basketball teams.  They are: Star Valley, Lovell, and Little Snake River.

Not to let too much of the cat out of the bag, but it's interesting in that three schools have both of their basketball teams ranked #1 in basketball this week. Starting this week, Star Valley,  Lovell and Little Snake River all have the #1 boys and girls teams in the polls.

Powell’s loss to Lander makes way for Star Valley to be #1 in 3A along with their Lady Braves. The 3A boys poll is a wild one with four teams getting more than one #1 vote this week. Behind the Braves is Lander. Torrington hangs steady in third while Powell drops to fourth. Wheatland remains fifth.   #4 Powell continues their monster road swing with a trip to #1 Star Valley on Friday. They'll be in Jackson on Saturday.

4A’s big change has Riverton bounced from the polls this week. The top three now are Evanston, Sheridan and now Gillette. Laramie is fourth this week with East still #5.  The 4 of the top 5 teams all play each other this weekend.   Sheridan and Gillette meet Thursday while Laramie and East play on Saturday in Cheyenne.

2A has Lovell with 18 of the 22 top votes in first place. Wind River got the other four and ranks second. Burns moved to third pushing Wyoming Indian to fourth. Moorcroft debuts on the polls as the Wolves rank fifth this week.

1A has Little Snake River a unanimous choice for #1. The Rattlers are followed by Burlington, then Midwest who was beaten last night, Normative Services is fourth with Dubois still at #5 despite getting beat by the team right under them in the rankings, St. Stephens.

No games involving ranked team vs. ranked are taking place this week in 2A or 1A, but there's 1 inter-class game on Friday, when #5 1A Dubois visits #2 2A Wind River.
