Torrington is the front-runner in 3A East football as they sit at 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Blazers survived a challenge from Buffalo back on Friday and prevailed 23-14 so Buffalo has suffered back-to-back narrow defeats and the Bison are 3-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Torrington got off to a fantastic start in this game as quarterback Ryan Moorehouse ran it into the end zone from 10 yards out to give the Blazers a 7-0 lead. Moorehouse then proceeded to throw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Drew Kramer to advance the lead to 14.

Buffalo jumped right back into the game on a 1 yard TD run from Tommy Wonka. But Moorehouse was on fire in the first half, throwing another touchdown pass to Kramer that covered 72 yards so the Blazers were leading by 14. Torrington added a 2nd quarter safety and Buffalo came back with a score of their own on a 55 scoop and score from James Ihnat. At halftime, it was 23-14.

Not a single point was scored in the 2nd half so the respective defenses dug with some rugged physicality. It was a great way to win for Torrington and a tough defeat for Buffalo. The season moves along this Friday with Torrington hosting Riverton and Buffalo hosting Douglas.
