Tyne Stokes of Torrington Inks with Rocky Mt. College
Torrington runner Tyne Stokes will be taking her skills northbound to Billings, Montana to compete at Rocky Mountain College. Stokes is a versatile runner with a 6th place finish in the 400-meter dash at the 2021 3A State Track Meet with a time of 1.01.21. She placed 14th in the 800 at the state meet but the crowning achievement was Stoke's 1600 sprint medley relay team that broke the 3A record in 4.17.62. That record was previously held by Rawlins, set in 2019. In fact, the Blazers took 2nd in the 4x400 relay at the state meet. As a freshman in 2019, Torrington's 1600 medley relay squad placed 2nd at the State Meet in Casper.
Stokes also enjoyed some relay success at the indoor track championships with a 5th place finish in the 4x400 and taking 7th in the 4x800. She also ran cross country for Torrington taking 36th at the State Meet back in October and placed 66th at the 2020 state championships.
Stokes also has participated in swimming and tennis and will be joining a solid NAIA program in Rocky Mountain, which competes in the Frontier Conference.
