The Pine Bluffs Hornets put 31.5 points on the board on the opening day of the 2A Girls State Track meet in Casper with Southeast running 2nd and Moorcroft 3rd. On the track, Wyoming Indian freshman Larissa McElroy took the tape in the 3200 meters with a time of 12.35.85. Jordan Jones of Moorcroft who took 2nd in this event last year, also took 2nd this year. Riquell Curry, another freshman from Wyoming Indian took 3rd. The 1600 sprint medley winner was Kemmerer as the Ranger team of Sammi Butler, Laurel Clarke, Marisa Orcutt and Kenley Plowman clocked 4.25.15 to break the class record. Southeast freshman Jordan Stoddard who has been sensational this year, won the high jump at 5-4. Jourdaine Cerenil of Pine Bluffs was 2nd and Laura Biegel of Big Horn was 3rd. Southeast posted another win in the field events as Morgan Ekwall threw 39-1.5 to win the shot put. Hyleigh Fornstrum from Pine Bluffs was 2nd and the 3rd place finisher was Riley Langston of Wright.
