The coaches/media rankings are normally used during the regular season, but now that it's time for the post-season to begin, the teams will be the ones to decide which is really #1.

For the second week in a row, the final 4A rankings are unanimous from #1 to #5, and they reflect the seedings in the bracket. It's Sheridan, Natrona, Cheyenne East, Kelly Walsh and Thunder Basin in that order. KW and TB will meet for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. The same can be said for East vs. unranked Rock Springs.

Until some team finds a way to beat them, Star Valley will stay as the unanimous #1 ranked 3A team. The 2-time defending champs will enjoy the comforts of home, until it's time to go to Laramie, provided they don't stumble. Torrington is the unanimous #2 and will also be at home. Green River maintains the #3 ranking, despite being shut-out last week at home by the Braves. Cody is up 1 spot to #4, and will open on the road against #5 Buffalo, who picked up a home game, thanks to the 3-way coin flip.

2 teams wearing purple are the top seeds in the 2A playoffs and the top 2 teams in the final 2A rankings. Glenrock maintains the #1 ranking, a spot they have held all season. Although #2 Mountain View lost last week, the Buffalos had nothing to play for vs. Greybull, and we suspect many of the voters think that MV was saving it for the post-season. #3 Wheatland and #4 Greybull will hook up in the post-season for the 3rd straight year. Big Piney is also ranked #4, tied with the Buffalos.

Looking at the final 1A rankings, this class could be the most challenging one to get through. Cokeville and defending champ Pine Bluffs share the #1 ranking. Many times in the past, the Panthers have had to go through 3 teams from the East to win the championship, and this year maybe no different, and that doesn't mean it will be easy. First up is #5 Southeast, who has given them problems in the past. If they get by, there's a good chance that #3 Big Horn will be next in line. Meanwhile #4 Upton-Sundance, could become road warriors. They were at Pine Bluffs last week, now they travel to Rocky Mountain, and unless they get tripped up by the Grizzlies, another road trip to Pine Bluffs awaits, in order to get to Laramie.

The final 6-man rankings got scrambled a little bit, thanks to last week's results. 2-time defending champ Kaycee is still the unanimous #1. The Buckaroos win streak is at 28 heading into the post-season. Burlington moves up to #2, but because of the way the coin flip turned out, the Huskies would have to visit Kaycee in the semi-finals, provided both get by the first round. Little Snake River finishes the regular season at #3, but because of the 3-way coin flip, they get to go on the road in the first round, but considering they only have to go to #5 H.E.M., they probably don't mind much. The Miners are out to prove that they are worthy of the East #2 seed. Then there's #4 Farson-Eden who lost their first game of the season last week. The Pronghorns will open the playoffs with a rematch against the team they started the regular season with...Guernsey-Sunrise.
