The latest coaches/media rankings in Wyoming High School Girls Basketball has some big changes, as there are 3 new #1's, as a result of what happened on opening weekend.

Three of the 4 #1's will be at the Flaming Gorge Classic this weekend in Sweetwater County, as well as the top 4 in 3A.

In 4A, Cheyenne East has moved up to the top spot. The Lady Thunderbirds should face some good competition from both in and out of state this weekend, at the Flaming Gorge Classic at Green River. East starts off with 7-0 Hillcrest, which is ranked #5 in Idaho. Sheridan moves up to #2, while defending champ and the pre-season #1 Gillette falls to #3. The Lady Camels will play competition in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend. Natrona and Kelly Walsh maintain their #4 and #5 spots respectively, and will entertain competition from Billings, Montana this weekend.

As mentioned in the pre-season rankings, the top ranked team, didn't get to prove on opening weekend, because they had no games scheduled. As a result, Worland dropped to #4, and will open the season vs. 4A opponents at the Flaming Gorge Classic. Rawlins moves up to the top ranked spot and will be in Sweetwater County as well. So will #2 Star Valley, who plays #1 4A Cheyenne East on Saturday. #3 Mountain View will join the fun as well. That just leaves #5 Lovell, who will play 3A East competition in Lander.

2A was the only class that did not have a change at #1. Defending champ Lyman retains the top spot and plays 4A competition at the FG. State runner-up Southeast holds at #2. Big Horn climbs up 2 spots to #3. The Lady Rams head to the reservation this weekend, where Wyoming Indian will be looking to get back into the rankings after an 0-4 start to their season. Pine Bluffs. Pine Bluffs and Tongue River put together undefeated weekends to start the season. That impressed the voters enough to put them in at #4 and #5 respectively. TR will be joining BH, and also has to keep an eye out for the Lady Chiefs. Unranked Kemmerer will be there as well. The Lady Rangers are also hoping to get back into the top 5.

The biggest surprise came in the 1A rankings. Pre-Season #1 and defending champ Cokeville, is out of the top 5. The Lady Panthers will try to put things back together this weekend vs. various opponents in Shoshoni and Thermopolis. Encampment has climbed to the top for now, jumping over St. Stephens who moves up to #2. Little Snake River moves up 1 spot to #3, while Kaycee drops to #4. Lingle-Ft. Laramie is in at #5, and most of the 1A action will be in their gym this weekend. All 1A ranked teams, except for LSR, will be at the Dogger Invitational, along with unranked Rock River.
