The contenders for the state championships are emerging in the new coaches/media rankings, which hasn't changed much.

Kelly Walsh is still the unanimous #1 team in 4A. The Lady Trojans along with unranked Natrona will host the Casper Invitational this weekend. The only other ranked 4A team that will be in the Oil City is #5 Cheyenne Central. #2 Star Valley will be dealing with quadrant business in preparation for next weekend's clash home vs. KW. #3 Thunder Basin will head to Scottsbluff, NE for a tournament, while #4 Cody will entertain 3A Worland.

The 3A #1 spot still belong to Lyman, because no one has been able to beat them so far this season. The Lady Eagles will play some 4A competition this weekend, when they visit Green River. #2 Rawlins, #3 Douglas and #4 Mountain View will join the 4A field in Casper. Worland is new to the rankings this week at #5.

2A has a new #1 team, thanks to Wright beating Pine Bluffs last weekend at the Lusk Invitational. The Lady Panthers visit #4 Southeast on Friday, while Pine Bluffs will head back to Lusk to play the Lady Tigers. Greybull holds steady at #3 this week, heading into the Thermopolis Invitaitonal, while Glenrock drops 1 spot to #5.

There's not much excitement this week in 1A, and no change in the rankings, but there is one question. Kaycee continues to be ranked #4, even though they've lost to unranked 1A opponents in each of the past 2 weeks. The rest of the rankings have Cokeville at #1, Saratoga at #2, Lingle-Ft Laramie at #3 and Meeteetse at #5.
