Week 5 of the Legion Baseball season in Wyoming is here. Games are taking place on five days this week. The weekend will be super busy. Four teams will make their season debut this week. Those four are Buffalo, Douglas, Riverton, and Torrington. The season's first conference twin bill will also happen on Wednesday with the Hawks and Sixers squaring off in Cheyenne. There are also a handful of 9-inning games, but most are doubleheaders.

MONDAY, APRIL 29:

Final Score: Green River Knights 12 Rock Springs Stallions 2 - a 6-run 2nd inning followed by a 4-run 4th put the Knights in control. GR took advantage of 9 walks & 3 errors. Lee had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

TUESDAY, APRIL 30:

Final Score: Gillette Riders 20 Sturgis (SD) Scoopers 1 - the Riders exploded for 15 runs in the 2nd inning. Hecker had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Gillette. Loftus & Schilling added 2 hits & 2 RBIs apiece.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 11 Sturgis Scoopers 3 - a 5-run 2nd by the Riders put them in control for the sweep. Foss had 4 hits (2-2B) & 4 RBIs. Gillette had 6 extra-base hits out of 15 in the game.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 1:

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 15 Cheyenne Hawks 1 (conference game) - the Sixers used a 7-run 3rd to break it open. Swaen & McAnelly had 1 hit & 3 RBIs each. George allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 4IP.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 9 Cheyenne Hawks 4 (conference game) - Down 3-2, the Sixers scored the next 7 runs over 3 innings for the sweep. Westby & Williams had 2 hits & 1 RBI apiece.

Rapid City Post 22 Expos 6 Gillette Rustlers 0 (9-inning game) - the game was not finished.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 5 Rapid City (SD) Post 22 Hardhats 2 (9-inning game) - 2 runs in the 5th gave the Riders the lead. 2 more in the 7th put it away. Kuhbacher had 1 hit & 2 RBIs. Gillette took advantage of 9 walks & 2 errors.

THURSDAY, MAY 2:

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 14 Casper Oilers 4 (9-inning game) - the Sixers had an early 4-0 lead and steadily pulled way to close it out in 8. Coates had 2 hits & 3 RBIs, while Tafoya & Horton added 2 hits & 2 RBIs each for Cheyenne. They took advantage of 8 stolen bases & 5 errors.

SATURDAY, MAY 4:

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 19 406 Flyers (Billings, MT) 0 - a 9-run 2nd inning put the Troopers in control. Riesen & Brown each had 2 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 10 406 Flyers 0 - the Troopers scored 4 in the 1st and won another shortened game. Evans had 1 hit & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Wheatland Lobos 20 Cheyenne Eagles 17 - a 13-run 2nd propelled the Lobos to their 1st win. L. Raser had 4 hits & 4 RBIs. K. Raser added 2 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 10 Douglas Cats 0 - the Hawks scored in all 4 at-bats for the shortened victory. Hauf had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Cheyenne took advantage of 7 walks & 8 stolen bases.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 11 Billings (MT) Expos 1 - Jurgensen had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for the Drillers, who scored in all 4 at-bats.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 11 Laurel (MT) Dodgers 1 - the Cubs scored 4 runs in the 1st to take the lead for good. Cody took advantage of 8 walks & 6 errors.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 9 Laurel Dodgers 4 - Down 4-3, a 6-run 6th gave Cody the victory and sweep. The Cubs hit 4 HRs including a grand slam by Johnston.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 6 Gallatin Valley (MT) Outlaws 4 (8 inns.) - Fauskee had the go-ahead 2-run 2B in the 8th for Powell.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 5 Gallatin Valley Outlaws 3 - the Pioneers rallied with 5 runs in the last 2 innings for the win. Queen had 10 Ks on the mound. He had 3 hits & 2 RBIs at the plate.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 8 Riverton Raiders 3 - the Mustangs scored 4 runs in the 1st to take the lead for good. Files had 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 8 Riverton Raiders 2 - 3 runs in the 3rd & 4th. Bischoff had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Jackson added 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Douglas Cats 11 Laramie JV Rangers A 9 (in Cheyenne) - the Cats used a 6-run 6th to surge past Laramie. Boyson and Kejr had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 12 Lewistown (MT) Outlaws 2 (in Bozeman, MT) - the Riders scored 9 runs in the first 2 innings. Hecker had 4 hits & 2 RBIs. Partlow added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 17 Miles City (MT) Outlaws 6 - a 7-run 1st inning pushed the Sixers to the win. Swaen had a 3B & HR and 4 RBIs.
