Jackson Broncs senior Justin Castagno has signed to play football at Wartburg College in Iowa. He was an all-conference linebacker for the Broncs and led the team in defensive points the last two seasons. Castagno finished with 112 defensive points in the 2023 season. He made 71 total tackles, an average of 7.9 per game. Castagno had six tackles for loss, a half sack, and one pass breakup. He was No. 15 in defensive points per game in Class 3A at 12.4. Jackson went 3-6 last fall and 1-4 in the 3A West Conference.

In his junior year of 2022, Castagno finished second in Class 3A in defensive points per game at 17.3 or 173 total defensive points. He made 98 tackles, which included 73 solo tackles and had one pass breakup. The Broncs went 4-6 that season and 2-3 in league games. They lost to Buffalo in the first round of the 3A football playoffs.

Castagno also wrestled for the Jackson Hole High School. He went 21-9 during his senior season at 190 pounds. He was a three-time qualifier for the state wrestling championships.

Wartburg College is in Waverly, IA. The Knights compete at the NCAA Division III level. They are members of the American Rivers Conference.
