Eva Nitschke of Rawlins Signs for Track at Chadron State

Rawlins senior track and field star Eva Nitschke will be taking her talent to Chadron State College in Nebraska this fall.

Nitschke is a two-time all-state performer in indoor track and a two-time all-state performer in outdoor track and field at Rawlins High School. She has won seven state championships during her prep track and field career.

The senior is the defending state champion in the 55-meter hurdles during the indoor track season. Nitschke also won a title as part of the 1600 sprint medley relay at RHS in 2021. She’s won the last two outdoor track Class 3A state championships in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, plus, an outdoor title in the 1600 sprint medley relay.

Nitschke has also placed in the 200 meters and 400 meters at the outdoor championships and the 400 meters at the indoor state championships.

She has the fastest in-state time in the 55-meter hurdles during the 2023 indoor season at 8.49 seconds. That happened at the Campbell County Invite on Jan. 21, 2023.

Chadron State College is in Chadron, NE. They compete at the Division II level and are a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
