Keaton Mills of Sundance has excelled athletically in 3 sports but football is his passion so he will be taking his talent to Chadron State in Nebraska. In the 2023 football season for Upton-Sundance, Mills was named 2A All-State and ran for 466 yards and 5 touchdowns. He rang up 192 yards rushing against Glenrock and also threw for 1181 yards as the Patriots quarterback with 10 touchdown passes. Mills was also a factor on defense as he had 69 tackles and blocked 4 punts.

In his junior year in football, Mills garnered All-Conference honors in 2A with 292 yards rushing and 5 TDs and also had 39 tackles on defense.

He also was named All-State in 2A basketball for Sundance 2024, averaging 15 points a game and threw in a season-high 28 vs. Newcastle. Mills also averaged in double figures in his junior season.

In addition to all that, Mills has been an outstanding track and field competitor for the Bulldogs and is the defending 2A State Champion in the high jump, clearing 6-2. He also finished 4th in the 2A discus at the 2023 State Outdoor Meet and his 1600 medley relay team placed 10th.

This season in track and field, Mills won the Sundance Invite in the high jump at 6-2 and also won in Newcastle at 6-0. He has thrown the discus 141 in Belle Fourche and took 7th at the Wyoming Track Classic with a toss of 139-7. Mills also has thrown the javelin 146-10 in the Quenn City Meet in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Chadron State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
