Shoshoni's Pehton Truempler is one of the state's finest all-around athletes. He's an all-state football as his Wrangler team won the 1A 9 Man state championship. Last year, Truempler won the 2A 145 pounds wrestling title, and this year, he made the top of the podium at 152 with a 14-7 win over Cael Thompson of Cokeville. There wasn't a shortage of action in this match and Truempler concluded his junior season with a record of 45-8. Thompson was solid this year too at 35-6. Chris Boardman of Moorcroft took 3rd and Brody Sorenson of Thermopolis was 4th.

Jake Hicks of Wheatland is another outstanding all-around athlete. He's a 3-time all-state selection in football and now a state champion wrestler thanks to a hard-fought 4-3 win over Keltan Ewing of Douglas. Hicks was 45-7 this season and Ewing was 49-5 ao that was an all-star match. The 3rd place guy at 152 in 3A was Jackson Wood of Cody with Ezra Archuleta of Rawlins taking 4th.

Over in 4A, Sheridan's Dane Steel placed 4th at 145 a year ago and this year, he stormed through the 152-pound bracket and beat Cade Pugh of Cheyenne East for the title. Steel, who is just a sophomore lost just 2 matches this season with 43 wins. Pugh wrapped things up 37-13. Giovanni Lucchi of Kelly Walsh was 3rd and Tucker Sides of Natrona 4th.
