Teams are starting to get into the really good part of their schedules, and some big matches between ranked teams are on the horizon this weekend.

Natrona is still the unanimous #1 in the latest coaches/media 4A rankings. East moves ahead of Kelly Walsh for #2, probably because the Lady Trojans were swept on their own floor vs. the Fillies last week. #4 Riverton knows that this is a big week, because they host both Casper schools. The Lady Wolverines are the unanimous #4, and Gillette is the unanimous #5.

Huge games await in 3A this weekend, because it's #1 vs. #2 and #3 vs. #4. Top ranked Mountain View visits second ranked Powell on Friday and Saturday, as part of the west conference duals. The Lady Buffs and the Lady Panthers are each other's last opponent on Saturday. Elsewhere, on Thursday, it's a battle of first place teams as #3 Rawlins (1st in the southeast), visits #4 Douglas (1st in the northeast). Worland now occupies the #5 ranking, and makes a long road trip to Torrington and Wheatland this weekend.

All eyes on 2A will be focused on Friday's big game. It features #2 Big Horn at #1 Wright. The Lady Panthers won last month in the finals of the Big Horn invite, but that was a non-conference affair. This one means much more, and Wright has to go to Big Horn again in a few weeks. The rest of the rankings have Southeast still at #3, Lyman is up to #4, and Shoshoni is now in the top 5, after taking over first in the northwest, by beating then #4 Thermopolis this past weekend.

When the first 1A rankings came out, we said Cokeville plays most of its schedule vs. non 1A opponents. This is the week that 1A needs to look for, because here come the 3-time defending state champs. First up for the #2 Lady Panthers, is a Friday trip to #3 Encampment, followed by a Saturday game at #5 Little Snake River. As for the rest of the rankings, Hulett holds at #1, and Kaycee the same at #4.
