It is Week 2 of the Wyoming Legion Baseball season for 2024. After just two games were played last week, a few more teams are scheduled to make their season debut this week. Two teams from the Gillette program, the Riders and Rustlers, plus two from Cheyenne, the Sixers and Hawks, will play their first games of the year. Powell also returns to action on Sunday.

THURSDAY, APRIL 11:

Final Score: Gillette Riders 10 Spearfish, SD 3 (9-inning game) - moved from Wednesday to Thursday: a 4-run 5th inning propelled the Riders into the lead. Drube had 3 hits (2B) & 1 RBI. Loftus added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12:

Final Score: Miles City (MT) Mavericks 13 Gillette Rustlers 3 - Mavericks got out to a 7-0 lead and scored 6 in the last 2 innings. Macias had 1 hit & 1 RBI for the Rustlers.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 18 Miles City (MT) Mavericks 2 - Riders broke the game wide open with a 9-run 3rd inning. Peterson had 3 hits (2B, 3B) & 2 RBIs; Schilling added 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Gillette finished with 17 hits. 3 pitchers combined on a no-hitter!

SATURDAY, APRIL 13:

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 17 Rapid City (SD) Post 320 Shooters 6 - the Rustlers took an early 5-0. They capped it with 9 runs in the 5th. Schilling had 4 hits & 6 RBIs.

Final Score: Rapid City (SD) Post 320 Shooters 8 Gillette Rustlers 6 - a 4-run 6th pushed the Shooters to the split. Hecker had 2 hits & 1 RBI for the Rustlers.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 13 Colorado Travelers 0 - 6 runs in the 3rd & 7 more in the 4th sealed for the Sixers. Horton & McAnelly had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 25 Colorado Travelers 0 - Sixers rolled behind 5 pitchers who combined on a 3-hit shutout. Kamarad had 4 hits & 2 RBIs, while Pacheco & Crecelius added 2 hits & 4 RBIs each.

SUNDAY, APRIL 14:

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 15 Colorado Travelers 9 - Cheyenne used a 6-run 5th inning to take the lead. Hauf had 3 hits & 5 RBIs for the Hawks.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 12 Colorado Travelers 5 - a 6-run 6th by the Hawks allowed them to get the sweep. Frogge had 2 hits & 3 RBIs and Maggard added 4 hits.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 14 Rapid City (SD) Post 320 Stars 2 - Petersen, Partlow, & Rambo had 2 hits each

Final Score: Gillette Riders 22 Rapid City Post 320 Stars 6 - Schilling & Black both hit home runs & each drove in 5 runs in the sweep.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 10 Lewistown (MT) Redbirds 3 - the Pioneers jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then closed it with 5 runs in the 6th. Schwahn and Queen had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 9. Lewistown (MT) Redbirds 1 - Powell pulled away with the last 8 runs after an early 1-1 tie. Queen led the Pioneers with 2 hits & 3 RBIs.
