Three senior Douglas High School boys’ basketball players joined the 1000-point club during the 2024 season. Nate Halquist and Trey Rinn passed 1000 points in the same game on Feb. 13, 2024, versus Buffalo. WyoPreps believes it is the first time two teammates have reached the milestone in the same game. The third Bearcat who accomplished the feat was Levi Curtis. He reached 1000 points on Feb. 29, 2024, at the 3A East Regional Tournament in Rawlins in a win over Moorcroft.

Halquist was a three-time all-state player for Douglas and was selected as the 3A East Player of the Year during the 2024 season. He averaged 11.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. Halquist shot 45 percent from the field and 80 percent at the free-throw line.

Rinn was a two-time all-state player for the Bearcats. He averaged 15.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Rinn shot 45 percent from the floor and 80 percent at the charity stripe.

Both Halquist and Rinn were also named to the 3A All-Defensive team for the 2024 season.

This year, Curtis was an all-state selection, leading Douglas with an average of 16.6 points per game. He added 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Curtis shot 55 percent from the field during his senior season.
