The 2021 Boys State Track Meet saw much better weather on Saturday, compared to Friday which gave the athletes a real chance to do their very best. In the distance races, Star Valley's Peter Visser won all 3 as he smoked the field in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4.28.02. Robert Douglas of Natrona won three individual events in about an hour's time as he swept the hurdle races and won the 100-meter dash. He ran 14.93 in the 110 hurdles, 38.49 in the 300 hurdles, and 11.34 in the 100. Plus, it was his birthday! Kelly Walsh speedster Darius Wiggins won two events on Saturday as he posted a time of 22.88 in the 200 and 49.49 in the 400. Sheridan won the 4x400 relay while Kaliff Guevara from Cheyenne East took the triple jump at 48-7. Sheridan won the 4A team title by a wide margin with 130.5 points with Natrona 2nd with 82 and Kelly Walsh 3rd with 80.

There was a 2 event winner on Saturday came in the 3A ranks as Ashton Schofield of Mountain View went 6-4 to claim the high jump and also took the 200-meter dash in 23.52. Lovell's C.J. Lindsey placed first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.29 with Schofield 2nd.  Cody Hape of Burns took the 400 in 51.l30. The 1600 meter winner was Blaine Goklish of Lander who edged his teammate Sam Kisteman at the wire with a time of 4.29.83. He won that race by 2, one-hundredths of a second. Sam Porter of Mountain View took gold in the 110 hurdles in 16.07 with Keltan Ewing of Douglas taking the tape in the 300 hurdles in 40.88. Rawlins placed first in the 4x400 relay but Lander prevailed as the 3A team state champions with 113 points as they took 3rd place in that 4x400. Mountain View was 2nd with 108 points and the Buffs were 8th in that last relay, Lovell took 3rd with 84 points.

In 2A, Zane Horrocks of Rocky Mountain had quite a meet. He won the pole vault on Friday and then proceeded to take the hurdle events with a time of 16.46 in the 110 and 42.03 in the 300. Rocky Mountain's Branson Robison won 3 events on Saturday as he took the 100 in 11.65, the 200 in 23.79, and the 400 meters in 50.79. That was a pretty good day at the office. Tongue River's Al Spotted claimed the 1600 meters in 4.42.09 with Big Horn winning the 4x400. In the 2A field events, Rocky's Kendrick Beckman cleared 5-8 to win the high jump and Jasper Caldera made it a sweep of the throwing events with a toss of 50-7 to win the shot-put. Rocky Mountain won the 2A team title with 161 points, Big Horn 2nd with 113, and Tongue River 3rd with 108.

Finally, in 1A, there was a rare, four-event winner as Kaden Dower of Western Heritage won both of the weight events prior to Saturday and then posted wins in the 100 and the 200 on the final day of competition, He ran 11.53 in the 100 and 23.33 in the 200. Boe Nichols of Ten Sleep took the 400 in 50.92. Nate Barnes of Cokeville had a strong day on Saturday as he won the 110 hurdles with a clocking of 15.56 and the 300 hurdles in 41.82. He also ran on the Panthers-winning 4x400 meter relay team. Cokeville also had a winner in the 1600 meter run thanks to Ethan Bird in 4.41 68 .Burlington took 3rd in that relay and ended up winning the 1A team championship by 2 points over Cokeville 110-108 with Upton 3rd at 74.5
