A state championship in 1A volleyball is nothing new for Cokeville but what's a bit strange is that they went two years without one, until Saturday. The Panthers beat rival Little Snake River in straight sets for their 26th volleyball championship in school history. Cokeville won 4 titles in a row from 2017-2020, then 4 straight from 2011-2014, 7 straight from 1995-2001, and 9 straight championships from 1985-1993.

This year's Cokeville team was packed with seniors and returned one all-conference player in Bryli Groll who happens to be the defending 800 meter, 1600 meter, and 3200 meter 1A state champion in track and field. The Panthers needed time to get on the same page this season but won all the marbles with an overall record of 27-11.

We talked with Groll and teammate Kylee King about the team's fortunes this season.
