Emma Hofmeister of Cheyenne Central is coming off a solid outdoor track season and found her way to the podium on more than one occasion at the State Outdoor Meet. With accomplishments like that, she earned a spot on the track and cross-country teams at Black Hills State in Spearfish, South Dakota.

At the 2023 4A State Outdoor Track Meet, Hofmeister placed 4th in the 1600-meter run, 5th in the 3200, 8th in the 800 and her 4x800 relay team placed 2nd. In her sophomore year of outdoor track, Hofmeister was 5th in the 2-mile, 7th in the 1600 and her 4x800 relay squad took 6th.

She's also been productive on the indoor track circuit with a 3rd place finish in the 1600 at last week's meet in Casper and her 4x800 relay took 1st. Earlier this season, Hofmeister took 2nd in the 3200 meters at the Basin Nation meet in Gillette and took 2nd in the 1600 at the 307 Invite in Laramie. At the State Indoor Meet in 2023, she rang up a 4th place finish in the 3200 and the 4x800 relay team also placed 4th.

In cross country, she has 3 consecutive top 10 finishes at the State Meet, running 20.14 in her senior year, 19.54.46 in her junior season, and a clocking of 19.46.32 in her sophomore campaign.

Black Hills State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
