Big Piney had a tune-up scrimmage against Pinedale last week and turned on the jets in their 1st regular season game in 1A 9-Man with a 33-20 home win over Lusk. Big Piney took the early lead in the game as Reuben Stoutenberg got into the end zone from 3 yards out giving the Punchers a 7-0 lead.

Lusk answered right back in the 2nd quarter on a touchdown pass from Jackson Snith to Collin Taylor that covered a dozen yards. The Tigers missed the extra point and trailed at this juncture 7-6. Big Piney got serious later in the 2nd as Caden Clifford rambled 11 yards for a touchdown which was followed by a 4-yard run for a TD from Stoutenberg. Champ Snively also tossed a 69-yard touchdown pass to Karsyn Gurr so at halftime, the Punchers led 27-6.

Stoutenberg scored his 3rd touchdown of the game in the 3rd quarter on a 17-yard run and Lusk responded with a pair of TDs from David West. He had a 12-yard run to the end zone and also caught a 12-yard pass.
