In a game that was far closer than expected, Douglas held off Worland on the road 20-14 to get to 3-1 on the year in 3A football. Douglas scored all their points in the 2nd quarter with quarterback Trey Rinn throwing an 11-yard touchdown pass to Nate Halquist and a TD toss to Brody Wagner for 8 yards and a score. Sandwiched in between that was a 1-yard plunge to the end zone by Carter Archuleta so the Cats led by 20 at the intermission.

Worland woke up in the 2nd half and it all got started with their defense as Gunner Mascaro picked up a fumble and took it to the house for a touchdown to cut the lead to 20-7. The Warriors tacked on another touchdown as Colt Weber lobbed one to Wyatt Dickinson that covered 20 yards and just like that it was 20-14. It stayed that way and Worland is now 1-3 on the year with a home game this week against Rawlins.

Douglas has won 3 out of 4 and they have an interesting game on Friday night hosting Buffalo. Be sure and take a look at some stellar photos of the Worland-Douglas game, compliments of James Yule. They are right in our gallery below. Enjoy!
