PhotoFest: Wright Track Meet

It was a blustery, chilly day in Wright for the annual Scott Hardy track meet but give everybody credit, the meet went on as scheduled.

On the boy's side, Upton's Luca Brooks who recently signed with Rocky Mountain College for basketball won 4 events on Friday. He ran 12.11 to win the 100-meter dash, a 22.70 clocking in the 200, a leap of 19-8 to win the long jump and, he went 39-7 to win the triple jump. That's a great effort in less than ideal weather conditions. Also on the track on the boy's side, Reece Barritt won the 400 in 56.41, Keaton Mills of Sundance captured the 800 meter run in 2.16.77, Dolan Glasser ran 5.19-70 to win the 1600 meter run and Marcus James of Moorcroft was the winner of the 3200 in 12.04. Vaughn Pierson ran 18.86 to win the 110 hurdles and Wright's Stephen Albin placed first in the 300 hurdles in 47.20. In the relays. Wright won the 4x100 and the 4x400 with Hulett winning the 1600 medley.

In the rest of the boy's field events, Keaton Mills took home another gold by clearing 5-8 in the high jump,  Bryce Ackerman of Hulett threw 132-7 to win the discus while Caleb Christiansen from Guerney-Sunrise threw 37-11 to win the shot put.

For the ladies, Ahnya Ivie-Moody of Hulett won the 100-meter dash in 14.16, Karcee Maya of Kaycee ran 27.87 to take the 200 with Bindi Hill of Kaycee captured the 400 in 1.07.78. In the distance races, Mallory Jones from Moorcroft finished first in the 1600 meters in 6.21.41 with Hulett's Abby Palus winning the 3200 in 14.25. Over in the hurdle events, Karcee Maya won the 100 in 18.22 and the 300 in 50.10 so the Kayee athlete had a great meet. Upton won the 4x100 and 4x400 really with Moorcroft winning the 1600 medley and Hulett taking the 4x800.

On the girl's field events, Kaycee's Bindi Hill cleared 4-8 to win the high jump, her teammate Jackie Rameriz went 8 feet even to win the pole vault, Char Cranston of Moorcroft had a leap of 13-8 t place first in the long jump and Upton's Maddie Mills went 31-7.75 to win the triple jump. In the girls throwing events, Bailey Hofland of Sundance won the shot put with a toss of 30-8.50 and Brooke Hofland of Sundance threw 90-9 to win the discus.
