Ryan Nutt of Pinedale has been more than solid on the mat for the Wranglers with 29 wins and just 5 losses this season. He placed 2nd at the ultra-competitive Lander Invite over the weekend at 120 pounds, losing a grueling 5-3 decision to Ty Peterson of Cody.

Nutt is no stranger to close matches when the stakes are high and the 2023 State Wrestling tournament was a shining example. In the 3A 120-pound title match, he outlasted Green River's Axel Mackinnon 5-4 to reach the top of the podium. It's quite an accomplishment to win a state championship as a sophomore and finished the year at 38-7.

In his freshman season in 2022, Nutt took 4th at the 3A State Tournament at 106 pounds and narrowly lost to Lander's Coaltyn Laird in the semi-finals 6-4. Nutt rang up 41 wins that season with 15 losses. He has a boatload of ability and is quick on the mat and that gives opponents something to think about.

We talked with Nutt after his 1st round win at the Lander Tournament and it was just another step in the process.
