Cheyenne Central freshman Brady Benne capped a big first year of high school diving with a state championship last weekend. Benne rolled to the Class 4A diving title with 460.15 points. He won by over 83 points. It concluded a dominating first season for the former gymnast. His efforts helped the Cheyenne Central Indians take second place in the team standings.

Benne’s 11-dive score was not a season-best at the state swim meet. His top score was at the Central Pre-Invite on Jan. 12, 2024. Benne scored 493.15 points at that swim meet. The freshman also had the top total in six dives at 319.55 points.
