The 2024 Wyoming High School outdoor track season has reached Week 3. Teams are competing over five days this week. Several school districts are on Spring Break this week, so several teams are not competing. Lyman, Pavillion, Wheatland, Burlington, Buffalo, and Rock Springs are slated to host in-state track meets. Some teams are heading to Utah or Nebraska for action.

TUESDAY, MARCH 26:

LYMAN HS INVITATIONAL at Lyman HS at 11 a.m./1 p.m. – Big Piney, Evanston JV, Lyman, Mountain View.

Canceled due to the weather.

WIND RIVER TWILIGHT at Wind River HS in Pavillion – Lander, Shoshoni, Wind River, Wyoming Indian.

Katy Anderson of Lander won the 800 & 1600 meters. Wind River's Emma won the 100 hurdles & high jump. Teammate Cora Remacle won the 100 meters & triple jump. Lander's Adelyn Anderson swept the 2 throwing events.

Lander's Brayden Johnson-Baker swept the 2 short sprint events. Teammate Cash Robison won the 300 hurdles & triple jump. 

Girls Team Scores = Wind River 200, Lander 113, Wyoming Indian 67, Shoshoni 32.

Boys Team Scores = Wind River 170, Lander 128.50, Wyoming Indian 79.50, Shoshoni 79.

 

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27:

Out-of-State events:

ALPHA INVITATIONAL at Timpanogos HS in Orem, UT at 2 p.m. – Evanston.

Both Evanston teams were in 3rd place after the first day.

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 28:

WHEATLAND INVITATIONAL at Wheatland HS at 10 a.m. – Douglas, Glenrock, H.E.M., Laramie, Lusk, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Rawlins, Rock River, Torrington, Wheatland; out-of-state team = Spearfish (SD).

Torrington's Brooklyn Asmus won the 100 & 200 meters. Wheatland's Lily Nichols won the 300 hurdles & long jump. Laramie's Kate Lewis won the 2 throwing events.

For the boys, Wheatland's Tyler Bohnen won the 100 & 200 meters. Payson Hollingsworth of Douglas swept the 2 hurdle races. Ty Bennick of Torrington won both throwing events.

Out-of-State events:

ALPHA INVITATIONAL at Timpanogos HS in Orem, UT at 2 p.m. – Evanston.

Evanston placed 3rd in the boys' division and 5th in the girls' division. Talia Conrad won the girls' long jump at 17-5.50. Kai Barker won the boys' long jump at 21-2.75.

BAYARD CD INVITATIONAL at Bayard, NE HS at 9 a.m. – Burns, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Pine Bluffs, Southeast.

Burns won the boys' division with 77 points. Lingle-Ft. Laramie was 4th in both divisions. Pine Bluffs placed 9th in both. Southeast tied for 6th in the girls and was 11th in the boys.

In girls' events: Jordynn Speckner of LFL won the 800 meters. Jada Kaufman from LFL won the 100 hurdles. Southeast won the 4x400 meter relay.

In boys' events: Brody Roberts from LFL won the 400 & 800 meters. Sullivan Wilson of LFL took 1st in the 1600 meters. Ethan Norris of Burns swept the 2 hurdle races. Pine Bluffs won the 4x100 meter relay. Burns won the 4x400 relay. 

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 29:

BURLINGTON TRACK MEET at Burlington HS at 1:15 p.m. – Burlington, Riverside, Rocky Mountain, Thermopolis, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy.

Burlington's Linnie McNiven won the 800 & 1600 meters on her home track. Davdine King of Thermopolis won the 200-meter & tied for 1st in the high jump. Rocky Mountain's Mackelle Moss tied for 1st in the high jump and won the 400 meters.

Riverside's Ty Strohschein won the 100 & 200 meters. On his home track, Burlington's Howard McNiven won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Paul McNiven swept the 2 hurdle races. Thermopolis won 3 of the 4 relays. Cody Bomagen from Thermopolis won the high jump & triple jump. 

Girls Team Scores = Burlington 144.50, Rocky Mountain 126.50, Thermopolis 114, Riverside 96, Greybull 27, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy 5.

Boys Team Scores = Thermopolis 273.50, Burlington 231.75, Riverside 68, Rocky Mountain 30.25, Greybull 18.50.

 

JERRY CAMPBELL INVITATIONAL at Buffalo at 10 a.m. – Arvada-Clearmont, Big Horn, Buffalo, Kaycee, Lovell, Sundance, Worland.

Buffalo's Carly Norman swept the 2 hurdle races on her home track and added a win in the long jump. Worland's Cherise Douzenis won the 200 & 400 meters.

On the home track, Buffalo's Kieran Murray won the 200 & 400 meters. Noah Mitchell of Worland won the 2 hurdle races. Lovell's Adnan Khan won the long & triple jump. Keaton Mills of Sundance won the high jump & discus for the 2nd straight meet.

Girls Team Scores = Buffalo 171, Worland 140, Sundance 61, Lovell 42, Kaycee 29.50, Big Horn 16.50, Arvada-Clearmont 12.

Boys Team Scores = Buffalo 141, Worland 123, Lovell 122, Big Horn 94, Sundance 74, Kaycee 34.

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 30:

TIGER QUAD MEET at Rock Springs HS – Green River, Pinedale, Rawlins, Rock Springs.

Canceled due to the weather.

Out-of-State events:

COPPER HILL INVITATIONAL at Copper Hills HS in West Jordan, UT at 9 a.m. – Big Piney, Cokeville, Evanston, Mountain View.

Cokeville was 2nd, Mountain View 3rd, Big Piney 11th, Lyman 17th, and Evanston took 22nd in the girls' division. In the boys' division, Mountain View was 5th, Lyman 12th, Big Piney 12th, Cokeville 17th, and Evanston placed 21st.

Jaylee Antonino of Mountain View won the 100 hurdles. Addison Barnes of Cokeville won the 300 hurdles and tied for 1st in the high jump. Mountain View won the girls' 4x 800 relay.

Carson Eardley of Mountain View won the pole vault & 300 hurdles. MV won the boys' 4x800 relay.
