Wyoming High School Golf Scoreboard: Aug. 9-11, 2023
Welcome to the 2023 prep sports fall season. Golfers and teams are ready to tee off on a new season.
The six-week fall campaign starts with five events over three days in Week 1 of the season.
This year leads up to championships events in Newcastle (Class 2A), Worland (Class 3A), and Sheridan (Class 4A) on Sept. 15 and 16, 2023.

Wednesday, Aug. 9:
Douglas Invite – at Douglas C.C. – Buffalo, Campbell County JV, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Riverton, Thunder Basin JV, Torrington, Wheatland
Natrona's Cheyenne Ward and Riverton's Parker Paxton have the clubhouse lead after the opening round. The NC girls and Cheyenne East boys top the team standings.
Star Valley Invitational in Afton – at Valli Vu G.C. – Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Lyman, Pinedale, Rock Springs, Star Valley
NO RESULTS REPORTED.
Thursday, Aug. 10:
Big Horn/Tongue River Kickoff – at Kendrick G.C. in Sheridan – Big Horn, Moorcroft, Sheridan JV, Sundance, Ten Sleep, Tongue River, Upton
Savanah Peterson of Sundance posted a 3-shot victory. Easton Lewis of Tongue River carded a 6-shot win. The Sheridan JV won both team titles.
Douglas Invite – at Douglas C.C. – Buffalo, Campbell County JV, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Riverton, Thunder Basin JV, Torrington, Wheatland
Natrona's Cheyenne Ward posted a 3-shot victory, while Riverton's Parker Paxton won by 17 shots. The NC girls and East boys captured the team titles.
Glenrock Fall Kickoff 2023 – at Glenrock G.C. – Glenrock, Lusk, Rawlins, Wheatland JV, Wright
Wright's Hannah Steele won by 13 shots for girls' medalist honors. The boys' medalist was Ace Keil of Wheatland by 4 strokes. The Glenrock boys won on their home course. No girls' teams standings as Glenrock was the only one with a score.
Powell Invitational at Powell G.C. – Campbell County, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Sheridan Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Worland
Erika Cook of Lovell for the ladies and Garrett Spielman of Sheridan, Bodie Williams of Thunder Basin, and Sequeil Lozier of Lander top the Day 1 Leaderboard. The Sheridan girls and Campbell County boys lead the team races.
Star Valley Invitational in Afton – at Valli Vu G.C. – Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Lyman, Pinedale, Rock Springs, Star Valley
Green River's Isabell Salas won by 30 shots, and Ryker Lind of Evanston won by 12 shots. Evanston swept the 2 team crowns.
Friday, Aug. 11:
Powell Invitational at Powell G.C. – Campbell County, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Sheridan Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Worland
Lovell's Erika Cook won by 7 shots for the girls' medalist honor. Sheridan's Garrett Spielman took the boys' division by 2 shots. The Sheridan girls and Lander boys won the team titles.
Upton Invite at Newcastle C.C. – Big Horn, Glenrock, Hulett, Lusk, Moorcroft, Sundance, Tongue River, Upton, Wright
Savanah Peterson of Sundance took the girls' division by 13 shots. Logan Timberman of Upton was the boys' medalist by 1 shot. The Sundance girls and Upton boys finished at the top of the team standings.
