Moorcroft has a long, proud tradition in wrestling with 8 State Championships in the last 12 years in Class 2A. The Wolves outdistanced 2-time State Champion Kemmerer winning it all in 2024 thanks to a couple of state champs, 2 guys that finished 2nd, and 3 more who took 3rd.

One of those state champions for Moorcroft was junior Braydnn Terry who took the 132-pound crown with an 11-6 win over Aiden Ruby of Green River. Terry had the highest win total by far of anyone in the 2A 132 lb. bracket and went 48-10 this season. He had a solid 4th place finish in a loaded field at the Ron Thon Tournament so winning a state title wasn't that big of a surprise.

Terry took 3rd at the 2023 2A State Tournament losing to Kemmerer's Roany Proffit who is now a 3-time State Champion. Terry went 41-16 last season and 36-15 in his freshman year. In 2022, He took 2nd place at State at 113 pounds, losing to Nathan Fish of Lusk who is also a 3-time State Champion. Terry was an All-Conference football player for the Wolves so that shows you what kind of athlete he is.

We talked with him after his grueling championship match at the Ford Center in Casper and it was certainly a competitive match.
