2021 Lyman Girls Basketball Wrap [VIDEO]
The Lyman girls basketball team has been one of the stronger programs in the state with 9 straight winning seasons. Their last state championship was in 2015 and the Eagles surged to the 3A state title game in 2020-21 and ended up taking 2nd place with an overall record of 19-5.
Lyman faced Wheatland in the opening round of the state tournament and battled their way to a 51-44 win. The Eagles shot 52% from the floor in the 2nd half and were led in scoring by Charlsie Rose with 15 points and Caroline Bradshaw contributed a dozen.
In the 3A semi-final round, The Eagles tangled with Worland and in another close game, Lyman prevailed 45-41. They outscored the Warriors by 4 in the final stanza and shot 45% from the floor for the game. Sage Bradshaw was terrific for the Eagles with 2 22 points on 9 of 13 from the field and Brice Hansen had 12.
Lyman however was overwhelmed by Douglas in the 3A championship game 51-11 so it was a tough game all the way around. But this team did have a couple of all-state selections as Brice Hansen made that list for the 2nd time. She averaged 12 points a game and Sage Bradshaw made all-state for the first time, averaging 11 points a game. Charlsie Rose threw in 10 per contest and was named all-conference.
Lyman has a bright future with Hansen, Bradshaw, and Rose all returning. They could be the favorites for the state title in 2021-22. We have a short video of the Eagles in the state tournament. Take a look!
