Green River senior Theran Archibald will further his basketball after signing with Northwest College in Powell recently. The 6-3 senior was an all-state and all-conference selection in the 2024 season and was named the 4A West Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a team captain and helped the Wolves to a 7-15 overall record.

Archibald led the Wolves in scoring, rebounding, assists, and blocked shots during his senior season. He was second in steals. Theran averaged 19.5 points and shot 42 percent from the field. He added 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Archibald shot 35 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent at the free-throw line. He ranked in the top ten in 7 of the 8 statistical categories in the 3A West Conference. Archibald was 2nd in scoring, 5th in rebounding, tied for 2nd in assists, 6th in steals, 5th in blocked shots, 7th in 3-point percentage, and 5th in free throw percentage. He scored a season-high 30 points in three different games. The senior finished second in Class 4A in scoring and ninth in rebounding. Theran finished his career fourth on the all-time scoring list at GRHS. His career high was 35 points against Kelly Walsh, as a junior, on Feb. 4, 2023.

Wolves’ head coach Laurie Ivie called Archibald a team leader.

“Theran led all season by example, both on and off the court. He exemplified the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship, and did so many things on the court that focused on making his teammates better.”

Archibald has been selected for the Wyoming-Montana All-Star game in June and the Wyoming Coaches Association’s North-South All-Star game in July.

He also plays soccer for Green River High School.
