WyoPreps Basketball Top 5 Recap for Week 9 of the 2024 Season

Wyoming High School basketball teams are through Week 9 of the 2024 season. This is a recap to give fans, players, and coaches a look at each week’s results for just the ranked teams in the WyoPreps Coaches and Media Basketball Polls. Five girls’ and eight boys’ teams in the rankings lost at least one game last week.

HOW THE WYOPREPS RANKED BASKETBALL TEAMS FARED IN WEEK 9

It was a tough week for No. 3 Southeast in 1A girl’s action. They fell in three contests. In boys’ games, Class 2A No. 1 Lingle-Ft. Laramie was upset by Lusk on Friday night. Natrona County and Sheridan both went 0-2 but to ranked opponents in the Capital City. Pinedale lost at home to another ranked team in Lovell. The two new teams in the rankings, Buffalo and Encampment also lost. The Bison fell on the road at the buzzer in overtime. The Tigers lost to two foes ranked ahead of them and both games were away from home.

1 – East = Won 46-33 vs. #4 Sheridan; Won 51-29 vs. Natrona County.

2 – Cody = Won 65-42 vs. Star Valley; Won 71-9 vs. Jackson.

3 – Campbell County = Won 59-32 at South; Won 61-45 at #5 Laramie.

4 – Sheridan = Lost 46-33 at #1 East; Lost 48-34 at Central.

5 – Laramie = Won 57-50 vs. Thunder Basin; Lost 61-45 vs. #3 Campbell County.
