New boys basketball rankings are out. #1’s are all nearly unanimous.

New boys basketball rankings are out. #1’s are all nearly unanimous. Gillette, Star Valley and Burlington have all the top votes in their divisions. Lovell has all but one in 2A, third ranked Lusk has that one.

In 4A hoops, Laramie moves into the 2 spot after Riverton’s conference stumble at home last Saturday. The Wolverines are now third. Evanston is fourth. Riverton just beat the Red Devils last night in Riverton by nine. Natrona and Kelly Walsh are tied for fifth. the two Casper schools meet Thursday at the Event Center.

3A teams continue to beat up on each other. Star Valley is a unanimous #1. Lyman is barely above Rawlins for 2nd, Buffalo is back in the rankings at fourth, pushing Wheatland back out, Douglas remains fifth.   There are no ranked games in a fairly light 3A schedule this weekend.

2A keeps Lovell on top after their second win over #2 Wyoming Indian.    Lusk is closer to the Chiefs this week, but,  the Tigers are still third. Big Horn and Moorcroft go 4-5. The Rams have a tough weekend slate. They’ll meet Moorcroft for a second time with perhaps the 2A North East title on the line. The Wolves won the previous meeting and get the home court Friday. Big Horn then hosts on top ranked Lovell on Saturday.

1A has Burlington with all 19 top votes. Ten Sleep and Snake River are solid choices for 2nd and 3rd. Guernsey moves into the fourth spot dropping Encampment to number five after the Tigers were upset last weekend. The Tigers get a shot at moving up when they go to #3 Snake River on Friday.
