Haily Stephens of Mountain View recently signed her letter of intent to play basketball at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs.

Stephens was a four-year letter winner for the Buffalos. She was a three-year starter at Mountain View and earned All-State honors her junior and senior seasons. Stephens was a three-time All-Conference selection.

Haily led the Buffalos in scoring over the last three seasons. As a senior, she averaged 14.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and two steals per game. Stephens ranked in the Top 10 of scoring in Class 3A in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She had the top 5 scoring performances in a single game for the Mountain View. That included a 23-point performance against Cokeville back in December 2019. She helped the Buffalos to an 18-6 record and the 3A West Regional Championship in 2020.

Her senior season was cut short, like all the seniors across the nation, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stephens told WyoPreps, “Not being able to compete at my last state tournament was heartbreaking.”

Stephens was chosen as the Senior Female Student-Athlete of the Year representative for Mountain View High School for the Southwest District at the 3A/4A level.

She also excelled in volleyball and track and field. Haily was a varsity starter on the volleyball team for the last three years. She helped the Buffalos qualify for state all four years of her career and to a third-place finish in 2018. Stephens qualified for the state track meet her first three years. She competed in the sprints, on relays, and in the triple jump. Haily took third place in the 3A triple jump in 2018.

Stephens added, “I want to thank my basketball coaches in high school for helping me reach the next level. I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to play the sport I love.”

She’s proud to be part of the Western Wyoming CC Mustangs Women’s Basketball program. Haily will play for Mike Swenson at WWCC. The Mustangs went 3-26 last season.
