The Lusk Tigers started the 1A 9-Man with a pair of losses to Big Piney and Lingle-Fort Laramie and those are two pretty good teams. The Tigers got some mojo back with a 39-20 home win over Saratoga and the team has gotten solid play at the quarterback spot from Jackson Smith.

He threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter, one to Nathan Miller that went for 85 yards, and the other to Aidan Matteus that covered 35 yards. So after one quarter, Lusk led 12-0.

Saratoga answered in the 2nd quarter with an 18-yard run to the end zone from Snowdon Williams so the Panthers trailed at halftime 12-6. In the 3rd quarter of play, Lusk got a couple of touchdown runs from Ridge Kupke from 10 yards and 2 yards out. Then the Lusk defense made a big play as Mattheus had a scoop and score on a fumble.

The 4th quarter was eventful as Saratoga made a surge as Williams scored from 3 yards out and quarterback Burris Berger tossed a 49-yard TD pass to Jace Westring. But Lusk responded with Kupke's 3rd rushing touchdown of the game.

The Tigers are 1-2 and will have a challenging road game this week at Southeast. Saratoga is 0-3 and they'll host Guernsey-Sunrise on Friday. Be sure and check out a few photos from Lisa Shaw from that Lusk-Saratoga game. They can be located in our gallery below. Enjoy!
