Southeast has missed the football playoffs just twice since 1997 so the Cyclones know what they're doing. Riverside paid a visit to Yoder on Friday for their opening round 9-Man playoff game on Friday and the Rebels have a super running back in Ty Strohschein who has been averaging over 160 yards per game rushing this season. Riverside put a jolt into Southeast with a 66-yard run for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage and with the successful two-point try, the Rebels led 8-0

Southeast would storm back thanks to touchdowns from Matthew Chapman, Ayden Desmond, and Cole Sauer so at halftime, the Cyclones led 22-14. Desmond gave Southeast some breathing room in the 3rd quarter with a touchdown and big Sebastian Brumley came with an interception and a pretty good return. Southeast advanced to the 1A 9-Man semi-finals with a 50-20 win and sits at 7-2 on the year. The Cyclones will travel to Pavillion to meet Wind River in round two on Friday at 2 p.m.

Riverside wrapped up the year with a record of 5-4 and that's the first winning season for the Rebels since 2015. Be sure and take a peek at some photos of the SE-Riverside game, compliments of Jamie Tippetts. They can be discovered in our gallery below!
