Star Valley had a chance to bring home the championship hardware for the 2nd straight year in 3A football, but they had to get by their rival Cody to get that done on Friday in Laramie. Cody had a tough time on offense and was short-handed as running back and leading rusher Grady McCarten left the game with an injury in the first quarter and did not return. The Broncs had 78 yards rushing in the contest on 30 carries. Quarterback Maddux ball did everything he could going 26-36 for 192 yards but his team did not find the end zone.

Meanwhile, Star Valley was methodical in their approach on offense with 250 yards on the ground. Quarterback Smith McClure was solid as he ran the ball 12 times for 86 yards and scored three touchdowns. He also threw a touchdown pass to Grant Thomson. Running back Jesse Leavitt was a beast and very hard to bring down. He finished with 95 yards rushing.

Star Valley made it 2 titles in a row with a 27-0 win and finished the year 11-1. Cody took 2nd place in 3A football for the 2nd straight year and wrapped things up at 10-2.
