One of the hottest teams in 2A football has been Torrington who had a 4 game winning streak heading into Friday night's home playoff vs. the Cokeville Panthers. It was Cokeville who set the tone early with a 57-yard run for a touchdown from Jack Dayton to make it 7-0. But Torrington would respond as quarterback Bryce Hager found the end zone from 6 yards out to even the contest at 7 apiece.

It was a busy 2nd quarter of play as Dayton put Cokeville in front 14-7 with an 11-yard run for a TD but Torrington answered the bell again as Hager got in from the 1-yard line to tie the game at 14.

The Blazers took the lead later in the 2nd quarter as Hager had another 1-yard plunge giving his team a 21-14 lead at the halftime intermission.

Yards and points were hard to come by in the 2nd half with neither team scoring so give some credit to the defensive units from both schools. Torrington wins a tough game 21-14 to get to the 2A semi-finals. The Blazers are 7-3 and have a huge challenge this week as they'll travel to undefeated Mountain View.

Cokeville has a long tradition of winning football and has made the playoffs every year since 1992 and their last losing season was way back in 1985. The Panthers wrap up the 2023 campaign with a mark of 5-4.
