The Torrington football team will enter the 2A playoffs with a three-game winning streak after a 36-0 home win over Newcastle on Friday at Wiseman Field. The Blazers jumped out in front in the first half on a 1-yard plunge into the end zone from Bryce Hager to make it 7-0 and Hager followed that with a 59-yard touchdown pass to Greysen Shields to double the lead to 14. Hager finished the first half with a TD throw to Laundre Greiman so at the break, Torrington led 22-0.

The Blazers tacked on a couple of more touchdowns in the 2nd half, as Hager reeled off a 26-yard run to the house and Jacon Durrant had a 19-yard run for a score. Torrington finished the regular season at 6-3 and will be the #2 seed from the East in 2A. The Blazers draw 5-3 Cokeville in their home playoff game on Friday night.

Newcastle finished the season with a record of 2-6 and have missed the post-season in 5 of the last 6 years. Be sure and take a look at some pics of the Torrington-Newcastle game from Erin Hager. They will be in our gallery below. Enjoy!
