Riverton's Parker Paxton certainly is one of the state's best prep golfers, following in the footsteps of his brother Easton who played at North Carolina State and now is on the Canadian PGA Tour. Parker won the Wyoming Amateur Championships over the weekend in Sheridan with rounds of 69 and 67 to finish 4 under par. He edged out Casper's Logan Hensley by 3 strokes. Earlier this month, Paxton won the Wyoming Match-Play Championship in Hulett by going 4-0 and defeating Casper's Taj Sutherland in the title match 2 and 1.

The senior to be is the 3-time 3A State champion and carded rounds of 65 and 72 in the 2022 state tournament in Buffalo. In Lander in his sophomore year. he was on top of the leaderboard at the state tournament, shooting 66 and 64, and also won a state title as a freshman in Evanston with rounds of 70 and 68.

Paxton is also an all-state basketball player for Riverton and led 4A in scoring this past season, averaging 18.5 points per game.
