There are no big changes in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll. After only half of the teams played last weekend, and then only a short time after Tuesday’s make-up Cheyenne Softball Invitational, there was only one difference in the new poll.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL RANKINGS: MARCH 20, 2024

Thunder Basin continued to top the rankings, as the two-time defending champs began the season 3-0 last Saturday. The Bolts earned 12 of the 20 first-place votes from the coaches and media around the state. Cross-town rival Campbell County remained hot on the trail, as the Camels received seven first-place votes and held onto second. They were less than 20 points behind in the voting.

Cheyenne East maintained the third spot. The Thunderbirds went 3-0 in Tuesday’s invitational in the Capital City.

The only change was a trade of spots between Cody and Cheyenne Central. The Fillies moved up one, despite a 1-2 start to their season last weekend. Cody’s only losses came on the road at the top two ranked teams, Thunder Basin and Campbell County, in Gillette. The Fillies were only three points ahead of the Indians, who slid down to fifth.

Four other teams received votes in this week’s poll.
