High school softball teams have their first full week of action in the 2024 season. Week 2 has the first conference games of the season. The top four ranked teams will square off in Cheyenne on Friday and Saturday. Also, after last week’s Cheyenne Softball Invitational was canceled a revised one-day event will take place on Tuesday for six teams that didn’t play last weekend. The schedule is subject to change.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19

Cheyenne Softball Invitational – revised and rescheduled (1-day, 6 varsity teams) – none are conference

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 7 Worland 1 - Oswald doubled & homered and drove in 3 runs for East.

Final Score: #4 Cheyenne Central 10 Rock Springs 1 - Indians scored the final 10 runs over 4 innings; Thomas had a 3-run HR for Central.

Final Score: Laramie 24 Cheyenne South 0 - Cass tossed a 1-hit shutout with 6Ks; Gomez with 3 doubles & 4 RBIs for Laramie.

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 8 Laramie 0 - Vallejo tossed a 1-hit shutout with 7Ks; Millar 2 hits (2B, 3B) & 1 RBI.

Final Score: #4 Cheyenne Central 13 Worland 3 - Moyte had 2 hits (2B, HR) & 4 RBIs; Thomas added 2 hits & 3 RBIs for the Indians.

Final Score: Rock Springs 14 Cheyenne South 6 - a 5-run 4th was the difference for the Tigers; Anderson had 3 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs for RS.

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 6 Rock Springs 1 - Brooks hit 2 solo HRs. T-Birds scored all 6 of their runs in the first 3 inns.

Final Score: Laramie 3 #4 Cheyenne Central 2 - McKinney's 3-run HR in the 3rd was the difference for Laramie.

Final Score: Worland 11 Cheyenne South 4 - Pierce had 3 hits & 5 RBIs in the victory for the Warriors. Wildcat added 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21

Final Score: Wheatland 11 Cheyenne South 1 (conference game) - Bulldogs steadily pulled away for the conference win. After a 2-1 lead, Wheatland scored the last 9 runs. Jones had 3 hits (2B) and 2 RBIs to lead the Bulldogs.

Final Score: Wheatland 19 Cheyenne South 5 - Vaughn went 4-4 with 2 doubles, a triple & 4 RBIs to lead a 21-hit attack for the Bulldogs.

Final Score: #4 Cody 15 Worland 9 (non-conference game) - Down 5-3, the Fillies rallied with 12 runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Schoening had 3 hits (2-3B) and 2 RBIs, while Wollschlager added 2 triples & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: #4 Cody 11 Worland 4 (non-conference game) - Fillies hit 2 HRs and hold off the Warriors.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22

Final Score: Laramie 18 Wheatland 2 (conference game) - Milam hits a 3-run HR to lead the Plainsmen to the win. Dean added 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie 19 Wheatland 5 - Gomez led the Plainsmen with 3 hits (2-2B) & 4 RBIs. The Plainsmen scored 8 runs in the 2nd to take the lead for good.

Final Score: Green River 17 Kelly Walsh 14 (conference game) - Wolves scored the last 4 runs in a back-and-forth game and outlasted the Trojans. GR had 20 hits, led by Kelley with 5 & 3 RBIs. Shiner added 4 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Kelly Walsh 12 Green River 4 - a 9-run 3rd inning propelled KW to the win. Sisco had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. KW also took advantage of 8 walks.

Final Score: Rock Springs 9 Natrona County 5 (conference game) - Tigers jumped out to an 8-1 lead and closed it out. Anderson had 3 hits (2B) and 3 RBIs for Rock Springs.

Final Score: Natrona County 11 Rock Springs 0 - Fillies scored 4 in the 2nd and 6 more runs in the 3rd. Sale had 3 hits (2-2B) and 3 RBIs to lead NC.

Final Score: #1 Thunder Basin 17 #5 Cheyenne Central 5 (conference game) - Selfors had a 4-hit game for the Bolts. The Bolts scored 5 runs in the 3rd and capped it with 8 runs in the 5th inning.

Final Score: #1 Thunder Basin 16 #5 Cheyenne Central 6 - TB had a 19-hit attack led by Selfors 5 hits (2B, HR) and 5 RBIs. The Bolts scored 11 runs in the 2nd & 3rd innings combined.

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 11 #2 Campbell County 10 (conference game) - T-Birds scored 6 in the bottom of the 7th for the victory. Oswald's 2-run inside-the-park home run gave Cheyenne East the dramatic comeback win. Oswald finished with 2 hits and 4 RBIs.

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 9 #2 Campbell County 5 - East used 7 runs in the 2nd and 3rd to pull away. The T-Birds took advantage of 5 wild pitches, 2 hit batters, & 4 stolen bases.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23

Final Score: #3 Cheyenne East 17 #1 Thunder Basin 8 (conference game) - T-Birds scored 13 runs in their last 3 at-bats to rally for the win. Brooks hits 2 HRs as part of 5 hits & 7 RBIs. Stephenson & Millar also hit home runs for East.

Final Score: #1 Thunder Basin 19 #3 Cheyenne East 7 - the Bolts scored 12 runs in the first three innings. Clonch had 2 hits (HR) & 4 RBIs, Terrell had 2 hits (3B) & 4 RBIs, and West added 3 hits & 3 RBIs for TBHS.

Final Score: #2 Campbell County 10 #5 Cheyenne Central 2 (conference game) - Camels scored 3 runs in 3 straight innings. Bayley Gray had 2 hits (2B, 3B) and 4 RBIs. Avery Gray allowed 2 runs on 6 hits with 13 Ks.

Final Score: #2 Campbell County 12 #5 Cheyenne Central 7 - Camels scored 6 in the 2nd and 5 runs in the 3rd for the win. Kimbley had a triple & a home run and 6 RBIs

Final Score: Natrona County 17 Green River 7 (conference game) - an 8-run 2nd put the Fillies on top for good. Gokey had 3 hits (2B) & 4 RBIs. E. Sale added 4 hits & 2 RBIs. The 2 teams combined for 42 hits in the game.

Final Score: Natrona County 18 Green River 2 - a 15-run 2nd propelled the Fillies to the sweep. NC had 19 hits led by Q. Sale with 3 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs 13 Kelly Walsh 9 (conference game) - a 6-run 6th pushed the Tigers to the conference road win. Anderson led the way with 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Wester added 4 hits including a solo HR.

Final Score: Rock Springs 8 Kelly Walsh 5 - a 6-run 4th separated the Tigers. Anderson had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Miller added 2 RBIs.
