Nominate an athlete for WyoPreps Athlete of the Week

Longtime Cody coach Scott Shaffer was selected as the girls’ assistant Coach of the Year at the National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) convention last week in North Dakota.

He won 3 individual events at the State Indoor Meet in 2024 and another title at the State Outdoor Meet in 2023.

He'll play football and basketball with the Tigers

Lander senior Benny Kulow was named the first winner of the WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Award for Boys’ Swimming and Diving on Friday.

The winners were chosen by their fellow WCA coaches.

Benne rolled to the Class 4A diving title with 460.15 points. He won by over 83 points.

Six swimmers and two basketball players received The Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Wyoming WyoPreps Athlete of the Week honors for Feb. 21, 2024.

The sophomore capped his year with a pair of wins at the Class 4A Boys’ Swimming and Diving State Championships in Laramie last week.

Brewer won his two individual events and claimed the top two honors for a 4A swimmer or diver.
