The 2024 Wyoming High School Boys’ Swimming and Diving State Championships are Thursday through Saturday in Laramie. The Laramie High School Natatorium hosts the Class 4A Championships on Thursday and Friday, followed by the Class 3A Championships on Friday and Saturday. Twenty-five teams will be competing over the three days of the culminating weekend. This is a breakdown of both classifications, the defending champions, and the schedule.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING & DIVING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024

CLASS 4A:

Teams Participating = Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Thunder Basin

Defending Team Champ = Laramie (going for a 7th title in a row)

Returning/Defending Event Champs = 200 medley relay – Cheyenne Central; 100 butterfly – Caleb Brewer, Cheyenne South; 500 freestyle – Aiden Stakes, Laramie; 200 free relay – Laramie; 400 free relay – Laramie.

Schedule = Thursday: Diving Prelims & Semis, 2 p.m.; Swim Prelims, approx. 3:15 p.m.; Friday: Finals, 10 a.m.

4A Prelim Results - Thursday

Campbell County's Cy Gallion and Sheridan's Ben Forsythe had the top time in two events each, which means they'll be the top seed in the finals on Friday. Gallion was in the 200 & 500 free. Forsythe was in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Laramie had the fastest qualifying time in the two free relays (200 & 400). Other leaders entering the finals are Kelly Walsh in the 200 medley relay, Victor Lebsock of KW in the 200 IM, Caleb Brewer of South in the 100 fly, Gunner Seiloff of Rock Springs in the 100 free, and Brady Hunt of Campbell County in the 100 back. Brady Benne of Central has a commanding lead in the diving through the prelims and semifinals.

CLASS 3A:

Teams Participating = Buffalo, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Green River, Kemmerer, Lander, Lyman, Newcastle, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, Sublette County, Worland

Defending Team Champ = Lander (seeking their 28th consecutive championship)

Returning/Defending Event Champs = 200 medley relay – Lander; 200 IM – Finn Richards, Lander; 100 Free – Benny Kulow, Lander; 200 free relay – Buffalo; 100 Breaststroke – Tommy Wonka, Buffalo; 400 free relay – Lander.

Schedule = Friday: Diving Prelims & Semis, 4 p.m.; Swim Prelims, approx. 6:15 p.m.; Saturday: Finals, 10 a.m.

3A Prelim Results - Friday

Lander had the top time in 8 of the 12 events after the prelims. They are the top seed for finals in the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Benny Kulow has the top time in the 200 and 100 freestyle events. Reed McFadden had the best times in the IM and Fly. Finn Richards had the top time in the 50 free and 100 back. Other top times were by Malachi Villareal from Kemmerer in the 500 free, Tommy Wonka of Buffalo in the 100 breaststroke, and Buffalo in the 200 free relay. Eric Hughes of Evanston leads the diving after the prelims and semifinals.

3A Final Results - Saturday

Lander won their 28th straight boys' title. The Tigers won 8 of the 12 events.
