WyoPreps is looking back on the year that was with our review of champions from the past year.

Two decisions will have an impact on the future of high school sports in Wyoming, while no discussion on a third topic means the status quo remains.

Nominate an athlete for WyoPreps Athlete of the Week

On Saturday in Cody, Lauren Olsen from Douglas and Star Valley's Jase Burton were named the winners of the 50th Milward Simpson Award.

Door was a two-time state champion during her prep career.

Jackson’s Ruby Hoelscher was selected as the Gatorade Wyoming Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

Buffalo goalkeeper Orion Ostheimer was named the 2024-25 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Soccer Player of the Year on Thursday.

These honors go to the top two finishers in individual events at the state track meet or those who were part of a victorious relay last month in Casper.

This award is given to a student-athlete who finished in the top two of individual events or as part of a first-place relay team.

It is considered the most prestigious award a prep athlete can earn in their high school career.
