Cheyenne South senior Caleb Brewer concluded a fantastic senior season with a big weekend at the Class 4A Boys’ Swimming and Diving State Championships in Laramie last week. Brewer won his two individual events and claimed the top two honors for a 4A swimmer or diver. He was selected by the coaches as the 4A Athlete of the Meet and 4A Athlete of the Year.

Brewer won the 200 IM at 1:58.30. He won the event by over four seconds. Later in the state swim meet, Brewer captured the 100-butterfly race for a second straight year at 51.81 seconds. His margin of victory was close to three seconds.

The senior lost only one race during his year of prep swimming in the Cowboy State, and that was in one of his off events, the 100-breaststroke race, early in the 2023-24 season. He went undefeated in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly races.

WyoPreps’ David Settle spoke with Brewer to shine the spotlight on the senior’s big weekend at the state championships and his two big awards.
