The Torrington boys basketball program has turned their fortunes around after winning just 5 games from 2014-2016. The Blazers had a strong 3A East regional tournament with 2 wins over Newcastle and another over Douglas to qualify for the state tournament. Torrington did have a very tough time in the opening round of the state tournament as they absorbed a 68-39 loss to Powell. Bryan Lemmon was solid with 19 points and Jared Lemmon had 13 but the Blazers were1-16 from 3 point land. In the consolation round, it was another tough outing as Torrington was bounced from the tournament by Pinedale 74-44. Jordan Malm had 15 and Bryan Lemmon had 11 the season came to an end with a record of 13-12, Jordan Malm averaged 17 points a game for this team and that earned him all-state distinction. Bryan Lemmon threw in 16 a game but those 2 were seniors along with Jared Lemmon. The Blazers certainly will have a different complexion in 2019-20.
