Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: June 26 – July 2, 2023
There is one month left in the Wyoming Legion Baseball season for 2023. The state tournaments are that close.
This is Week 13 of the year. Conference games take place early in the week, while the weekend is mostly tournament games.
Green River has the biggest in-state tournament with seven teams from Wyoming and one from Idaho. Also, Cheyenne and Gillette host a tournament this week. Three teams are heading to a tournament in either Idaho, Montana, or North Dakota.

MONDAY, JUNE 26:
Final Score: Evanston 19 Rawlins 0 (conference game) - the June 10th game (weather) was finished with the Outlaws getting the shutout. A 12-run 2nd inning propelled them to the win. Wilson and Bauer combined on a 1-hitter. Rich had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Oliver had 1 HR. Four other Evanston players had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Evanston 13 Rawlins 3 (conference game) - Outlaws got the sweep. Hoover led a 17-hit attack with 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Osborn added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Sheridan Jets 13 Buffalo 3 (conference game) - Greer had 2 hits & 3 RBIs and DeStefano added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Sheridan had 13 hits and took advantage of 6 walks, 5 SBs, & 3 errors.
Final Score: Buffalo 9 Sheridan Jets 5 (conference game) - a 5-run 3rd helped the Bulls gain a road split. Jawors had 1 hit & 3 RBIs. Camino added 3 hits and got the win on the mound.
Final Score: Powell 10 Lovell 0 (conference game) - Stenerson threw a 2-hit shutout with 6 Ks and 1 walk. Queen hit a 3-run HR in the 3rd and Welch added a 2-run 3B in the 4th.
Final Score: Powell 7 Lovell 3 (conference game) - the Pioneers jumped to a 4-0 lead and got the home sweep. Johnson and Wantulok had 2 hits each. Worstell tossed 5 shutout innings and allowed only 3 hits.
TUESDAY, JUNE 27:
Final Score: Gillette Riders 5 Cheyenne Sixers 4 (conference game) - Riders scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win. Killian hit the game-winning RBI single.
Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 1 Gillette Riders 0 (conference game) - McAnelly tosses a no-hitter with 11 Ks and 3 walks.
Final Score: Wheatland 15 Rawlins 4 - Lobos scored all their runs in their last 4 at-bats. Petroski led a 20-hit attack with 4 hits & 4 RBIs. Schaffner added 4 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Wheatland 11 Rawlins 1 - a 4-run 1st set the tone for the Lobos. Nilsson had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Schaffner added 2 doubles & 2 RBIs. Wakkuri finished with 3 hits & drove in 1.
Final Score: Billings Exops 12 Lovell 2 - Mustangs held without a hit in the opener.
Final Score: Billings Expos 11 Lovell 0 - Mustangs held to 2 hits.
Final Score: Laramie 12 Rock Springs 8 (conference game) - Rangers got out to a 9-3 lead and held off the Stallions. Branch had 2 triples & 2 RBIs. Moore added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Laramie 10 Rock Springs 0 (conference game) - 3 Laramie pitchers combined on a 1-hit shutout. Moore had 1 hit & 3 RBIs. A five-run 6th ended the game early.
Final Score: Dickinson, ND 10 Casper Oilers 0 - Oilers limited to 4 hits, 2 by Pexton.
Final Score: Casper Oilers 15 Dickinson, ND 4 - a 9-run 3rd helped Casper gain a road split. The Oilers took advantage of 13 walks, 7 SBs, & 3 errors. Smith hit a 3-run HR.
Final Score: Douglas 7 Gillette Rustlers 6 (conference game) - a 4-run 6th pushed the Cats past the Rustlers. The winning run scored on a balk. Boyson and Sullivan had 2 hits each.
Final Score: Douglas 8 Gillette Rustlers 2 (conference game) - Spence allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 5.1 IP. He struck out 10 with 3 walks. Holler had 2 hits & 3 RBIs in the win.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28:
Final Score: Cody 8 Casper Drillers 8 - the game ends in a tie after a 2-hour time limit.
Final Score: Casper Drillers 10 Cody 5 - a 4-run 2nd pushed the Drillers in front, and Casper closed it with 3 in the 5th. Speiser had 2 hits & 5 RBIs.
Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 9 Jackson 2 (conference game) - Stowe hit 2 HRs as part of 3 hits & 4 RBIs. Greer added 3 hits & 4 RBIs. The Troopers scored 5 runs in the first 2 innings.
Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 9 Jackson 1 (conference game) - Sheridan scored in each of the first 4 innings. Stowe had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Greenough-Groom added 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Stowe was the winning pitcher. He went 5 inns, allowed 0 runs, 1 hit, 9 Ks, & 1 walk.
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 6 Torrington 5 - the Hawks rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Romine had the game-winning RBI single. Garrett had 3 hits and Ruskanen added 1 hit & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Torrington 7 Cheyenne Hawks 1 - a 4-run 7th sealed it for the Tigers. Hibben had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.
THURSDAY, JUNE 29:
Final Score: Cody 10 Billings Expos 4 - Cubs took advantage of 10 walks & 5 Expos errors. Thomasson got the win on the mound.
Final Score: Cody 4 Billings Expos 3 - Carlson had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 7th for Cody.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 5 Gillette Rustlers 2 - a 5-run 3rd was the difference for the Jets. Maslowski had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Sheridan.
Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 10 Wheatland 2 - an 8-run 2nd led to the Gillette win.

Final Score: Laramie 16 Cheyenne Hawks 0 - Branch with 3 RBIs & 3 hits for the Rangers. 3 Laramie pitchers combined on a 2-hit shutout.
Final Score: North Platte, NE 3 Cheyenne Sixers 2 - NP led 3-0 and a Sixers rally falls short. Tafoya had 3 hits in the loss.
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 7 Rocky Mountain Oysters Gold 3 - Hawks jumped out 5-0 in the first 2 innings and held on. They won despite 15 hits by the Oysters. Seelye had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Billings Royals 15 Sheridan Troopers 5 - Waugh had 1 hit & 2 RBIs and Maestri added 2 hits.
Final Score: Billings Scarlets 12 Sheridan Troopers 4 - Troopers had only 4 hits and 3 were doubles.

Final Score: Shelley, ID 6 Rock Springs 5 - the Stallions rally for short. Zotti had 2 hits & 1 RBI.
Final Score: Rock Springs 8 Idaho Falls Titans 3 - Stallions scored all their runs in 3 straight innings. Sagastume and Mines each had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Evanston 7 Rawlins 2 - Hoover strikes out 10 and allowed only 2 runs on 5 hits as the winning pitcher. 3-run 2nd and 6th innings led the Outlaws to the win. Kaman had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Evanston.
Final Score: Pocatello (ID) Razorbacks 6 Evanston 5 (8 inns.)
Final Score: Powell 4 Pocatello Razorbacks 0 - Stenerson threw a 3-hit shutout. Worstell had a double & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Douglas 4 Lovell 2 - a 3-run 7th led to the Cats' win. Holler & Robertson had 2 hits & 1 RBI.
Final Score: Torrington 21 Green River 1 - an 8-run 1st and a 9-run 4th pushed the Tigers to a dominant win. Firminhac had 4 hits & 5 RBIs. Greiman added 3 hits & drove in 2 runs.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 9 Buffalo 8 - a sacrifice fly in the 7th was the difference for the Drillers' win. Deveraux had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Casper. Connors had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Buffalo.
Final Score: Casper Drillers 7 Rapid City Bullets 6 - Drillers led 5-0 but RC rallied and tied it. 2 runs in the top of the 7th were key. Sides hit a Grand Slam. Speiser had the go-ahead RBI single. An error led to the 2nd run in the 7th.
Final Score: Greeley, CO 9 Buffalo 1 - Bulls held to 4 hits.
Final Score: Colorado Angels 5 Wheatland 4 - a 4-run 6th keyed the Angels. Petroski had 3 hits & 1 RBI.
Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 9 Colo Angels 4 - an 8-run 3rd pushed the Rustlers to the win. Nuzum had 2 hits & 1 RBI. Black and Kuhbacher contributed 1 hit & 2 RBIs apiece.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 4 North Platte, NE 3 (8 inns.) - Gifford had the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 8th. Nielsen led Casper with 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Casper Oilers 8 Hastings, NE 6 - Oilers led 8-2 and held on for the win. Smith and Hauck with 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.
Final Score: Laramie 8 Jefferson Academy 0 - Moore throws a perfect game on 59 pitches.
Final Score: Idaho Falls 7 Cheyenne Sixers 1 - Bandits scored six unanswered runs after the game was 1-1 at the end of the 3rd inning.
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 3 Jefferson Academy 2 - Cheyenne scored 3 in the 3rd and held off the Jags.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 19 Saskatchewan, Canada 1 - Troopers exploded with 14 hits and took advantage of 5 errors & 8 walks. Green had 3 hits & drove in 5 runs. Hamrick added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs 11 Idaho Falls Tigers 7 - Stallions win 2nd in a row. RS scored in every inning they batted. Garner, Sagastume & Pecolar each had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Rock Springs 7 South Fremont 1 - Stallions win their 3rd in a row. RS pulled away as the game went along. Garner had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Ice was the winning pitcher. He allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits with 11 Ks and 2 walks.
SATURDAY, JULY 1:
Final Score: Gene Taylor (Grand Junction, CO) 14 Jackson 10 - a 5-run 6th was the difference for GT. The Giants out-hit GT 16-6.

Final Score: Green River 23 Rawlins 2 (conference game) - Knights rolled past the Generals. A 9-run 2nd followed by a 7-run 3rd pushed GR to the win. Bushelman had a 2B and 5 RBIs. Dane added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Lovell 17 Torrington 8 - the Mustangs got out to an 11-0 lead through 2.5 innings. Hedges had 2 hits (HR) & 6 RBIs. Files added 3 hits & 3 RBIs for Lovell.
Final Score: Powell 8 Douglas 3 - Pioneers used a 5-run first for the win. Stenerson homered. Queen added 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Johnson struck out 14 for the win on the hill.
Final Score: Evanston 4 Powell 3 - Outlaws scored 3 in the 6th to rally for the victory. The go-ahead run scored on an error.
