In 1A 6-Man football, you're asked to do it all. Offense, defense, special teams, you name it. Burlington got a full team effort as they knocked off Little Snake River 42-39 to capture their first state championship since 1994,

Little Snake River was riding a 30-game winning streak and looking to 3-peat as state champs but found a way to keep the Rattlers in check including a key defensive stand late in the 4th quarter from their own 5-yard line and leading by 3.

On offense, Jordan Michaels was terrific as he was 11-18 throwing the football for 134 yards and three TD passes. He also ran for 98 yards and a score. Joe Bassett, who is a junior this season caught a TD pass and ran for 61 yards on 13 carries. By the way, Bassett was in on 18 tackles on defense and Michael was in on 14 tackles and an interception.

We talked with Bassett and Michaels about winning that elusive state championship and they knew they were in for a battle.
