The 2023 State Volleyball Tournament had some familiar names winning championships as Laramie won their 3rd title in 4 years in 4A, Mountain View repeated as the 3A champs, Big Horn won their 3rd crown in 4 years in 2A and in 1A Cokeville won their 5th championship in the last 7 years.

In the 4A state championship match, Laramie held off a determined Thunder Basin team in 5 sets, 25-23, 25-16 25-27, 21-25, and 15-11. Laramie had an outstanding record of 33-1 this season and Thunder Basin was great too at 33-5. Cody placed 3rd in 4A with a 25-27, 25-23. 25-20 and 25-21 win over Kelly Walsh. Cody posted an overall record of  27-3 and Kelly Walsh finished the season at 27-9. Campbell County went 1-2 in the state tournament and was 28-10 on the year while Star Valley also went 1-2 and concluded the season at 28-10. Riverton and Cheyenne East went 0-2 at the state tournament and ended the season with records of 23-15 and 17-17 respectively.

Mountain View made it back-to-back state championships in 3A with a 4-set win over Powell in the title match 25-20, 17-25, 25-15, and 25-20, The Buffs were 32-7 for the year and Powell ended the season at 27-7. Lyman defeated Douglas for 3rd place 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26, and 15-6 so the victorious Eagles went 29-12 on the year and the Bearcats 27-13. Wheatland and Buffalo went 1-2 at State with Wheatland finishing at 24-12 and Buffalo 27-6. Worland and Torrington lost both of their matches at the state tournament and wrapped up the season with records of 20-16 and 13-22 respectively.

Big Horn prevailed as the 2A state champion with a 21-25, 25-11, 25-12, and 25-20 victory over Burns. The Rams were 29-9 in their championship series and Burns concluded the year at 17-19. Tongue River rallied from 2 sets down to defeat Pine Bluffs for 3rd place 19-25, 16-25, 25-2, 25-21 and 15-11. TR was 20-12 on the year and PB finished 16-15. Shoshoni and Rocky Mountain went 1-2 in Casper with overall records of 19-14 and 13-18 respectively. Greybull went 0-2 and wrapped up the season 25-7 and Big Piney also went 0-2 and ended the campaign at 8-20,

Cokeville reigned as the 1A champs as they beat Little Snake River in straight sets in the title match 25-21, 25-20, and 26-24. Cokeville is no stranger to the winner's circle and posted a season mark of 27-11. LSR went 2-4 on the year. Upton took 3rd place in 1A in 2023 with a 19-25, 25-16, 25-10 and 25-12 victory over Southeast. Upton had another solid season at 30-3 while Southeast finished 19-11. Hulett and Burlington had 1 win and 2 losses at State with Hulett wrapping up the year at 19-12 with Burlington going 17-18, Riverside and Guernsey went 0-2 as Riverside had a record this season of 18-16 and Guernsey went 9-17.
