The first playoff game between the Encampment Tigers and Burlington Huskies will happen on Friday in the 2023 semifinals.

Both teams are 8-1 on the season. The game is in Burlington because the Huskies won the North Conference in 6-man football and have the home-field advantage.

It is just the fourth game between the two programs in football. The first was in 1990. The most recent two were in the last game of the regular season in both 2020 and 2021. The Huskies won the first game, but the Tigers have won the last two meetings.

WyoPreps visited with both head coaches before this game. Encampment’s Kegan Willford and Burlington’s Trent Aagard spoke about how their team played in the first round of the playoffs, how they’ll prepare for the next, big step, scouting each other, and some keys to victory. We also asked Coach Willford about their travel plans.
